CUSTOM CARPAL BRACES
ABOVE PAW CARPAL
A paw section is not needed for less severe carpal injuries that require mild-moderate medio-lateral instability and/or hyperextension.
PAW SECTION CARPAL
A paw section is used for more severe carpal injuries and/or for injuries encompassing the paw that require more control.

Custom hock braces are used for achilles tendon injuries and mediolateral instability.
CARPAL-STRIDE
The Carpal-Stride is an ultra-light, durable, effective, and functional brace that was design based off of our experience with custom braces.
- This is a carpal hyperextension orthosis (brace that supports the wrist/carpus and prevents it from collapsing backward) used for dogs with conditions that cause instability, weakness, or damage to the carpal joint resulting in mild to moderate hyperextension.

Sean Maher MSOP, CPO
Sean Maher is an American Board Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist and Owner of New Stride. Drawing on his experience with human prosthetics and orthotics, he develops off-the-shelf and customized devices for pets with a variety of pathologies. Sean received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and his Master of Science degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics from CSU Dominguez Hills.
Sean is dedicated to furthering innovation and the standard of care in the field of veterinary prosthetics and orthotics. We work closely with veterinarians to provide the best practice for pets.
